[SOLVED] Dualboot problems: Ubuntu 12.10 + Mint 14 w/ LVM

So I feel a bit stupid for getting myself in this situation...

So I installed Ubuntu 12.10 on my family's computer shortly after it was released and decided to do an LVM install, thinking it would still ask me about partitioning the LVM. It didn't, but it worked so I didn't mind too much. Fast forward to a few days ago, I decide to try Mint and it's running pretty fast from the flashdrive, so I decide I'll install it along side Ubuntu. So I resize the the the partitions in the LVM and make a new one in there for mint to install to and I let the installer run.

After it's done, GRUB shows up and I try booting to Mint. But it just hangs and says nothing. Luckily the option for Ubuntu still works so the computer is still usable, but the Mint option doesn't.
So can anyone here help me get mint working? If so, what extra information do you need?

Yes I do.

Some more information: I've done some tinkering and I think it's the initrd file, because when I copy my Ubuntu initrd onto Mint's boot folder, I can then boot. I've been looking through the files in the respective initrd files and discovered that the Mint initrd does not have LVM configuration files or binaries, whereas the Ubuntu initrd does.
After getting it to work, I reinstalled plymouth components via Synaptic (to get rid of the Ubunutu splash) and it stopped working again. Probably because it rebuilt the initrm without lvm support again.

I'm going to keep tinkering. Any help is appreciated though.

EDIT:

I copied my Ubuntu initrd back over, booted through it, then installed lvm2 to the mint initrd, then rebooted through the mint initrd. Worked fine after that. Will mark this as solved.
