Install Linux on EFI boot/without CD-DVD Rom

Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to install Linux Mint on ASUS F401U 64bit machine?
The laptop does not have cd/dvd drive and there is no option to boot from USB in UEFI BIOS
Boot configuration has 3 options:
1. UEFI (Windows Boot Manager)
2. PXE ROM for onboard LAN
3. From file system (.efi file required)
The PC currently has windows 8 installed, that I don't want to keep.
As you aware Linux windows installer does not work with EFI.

I dont know about the EFI boot bit, but its easy to make a LiveUSB

There is no UEFI installation support in Linux Mint 14.

Edit by Clem: UPDATE, we found the issue, it’s specific to Ubiquity in Mint 14 (i.e. it doesn’t affect Ubuntu). We’ll respin the 64-ISOs and make an announcement. For a rough ETA, this should take approximately a week.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I managed to install Mint 14 using your recommendation.
