Dual boot XP on usb hard drive and mint on laptop.

Postby srdempster on Sat Apr 26, 2008 4:52 am

I run mint on my laptop and have a redundant usb drive that i want to put xp/vista on.I guess that as soon as I install windows onto usb it'll corrupt grub.
I'd like to keep backup grub or at least have a way to restore it and recognise xp/vista in it so that when my usb drive is connected i can choose to boot into windows and when not boot into mint.
Any ideas please?

Thanks Steve

Restore grub is easy with Super GRUB disk, though you will have to add a entry for the USB disk. Just Google for Super GRUB disk, it is available from some Yahoo/Geocities url.
