My computer does not have a DVD nor can it boot from a USB.
I want to upgrade Mint 11 to Mint Mate 13, but Mint 13 ISO exceeds the capacity of a CD. After a bit research I found a tutorial titled "How to remaster/respin Linux Mint ISO images" (http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/918) that allows to remove packages from an ISO file in order to make smaller so that it can fit on a CD.
I then proceed as per the instructions and in the "chroot" terminal I removed the following packages using "apt-get remove":
(all the packages starting with the name)
Everything went OK and should have freed quite a bit of space, as indicated.
I then performed the rest of the procedure and to my surprise the size of the resulting ISO is 942.2 MB while the original ISO was 941.6 MB
Any idea what went wrong in the process?
