Mint Linux 14 black screen

I just updated to Mint Linux 14 and after doing a bunch of updates, now it won't boot into the desktop. All I get is a black screen. I tried going into the recover mode, but it just hangs. I was wondering if there is a way to fix this or just reinstall. I think I will probably just do a reinstall, but I thought I would ask anyway.
