Hello Everyone,
I have a Toshiba L855d-s5242(Trinity A8, 6GB Ram, 7640G) and for the life of me can't figure out why I cannot get a Linux distro to install easily on this laptop. I have a fair amount of experience with Linux although this is my first real experience with Linux Mint.(running on desktop) I have tried using nomodeset and acpi=off with no success. I have gotten a working install of Ubuntu 12.04 on the laptop although it was quite quirky but this was back in September. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I love Mint on my desktop and would love to be able to have it on my laptop as well. Also I am running the Cinnamon version of Mint 14.
Thank You,
Derek
P.S. I never actually stated the issue, sorry. It loads the bootloader and then when i choose the install mint option it will start to load and then hang up eventually. Compatibility mode does the same thing. Thanks again.
