my sound frequently doesn't load on boot and I don't get the characteristic beep at the login window. rebooting once or twice solves the problem. any suggestions for having the sound active on all boot attempts

nvidia ck804 is the sound chip I've got No problems noted, but I generally have my speakers switched off and only switch them on when listening to music
