i'm new in Linux mint and I want to try it
(I come from Ubuntu)I have a desktop PC. Windows 8 on it. (Gaming on linux isn't satisfying enough!)
And I have a second HD, which serves me as data stockage.
I freed 200 Go for Linux mint.
So, I've installed linux mint 14 (cinnamon 64 bits with codecs) in my free partition on my second HD.
No problem.
Computer restarts after installation, I saw (for the first time! :O) the log screen of linux mint. I typed my username and my password. Black screen (and a message about battery state, little weird because I have a desktop PC).
I tried to connect using terminal (Ctrl + Alt + 1), and it works ... I tried to startx and it failed. I haven't the error message (I'm at work now).
Have you an idea about my issue ?

PS : my config : intel core i5, MSI nvidia GTX 660, one SSD HD with win 8, 1 DH with 2 partitions : one for data, the other for linux mint.
