LiveCD Usplash solved

LinuxMint is an Ubuntu-based distro, as we all know, and I was wondering how did you guys (the LinuxMint devs) change the default Usplash theme from the LiveCD to your own LinuxMint usplash theme? I'm currently customizing the Ubuntu LiveCD, but no matter what I do I can't get the default usplash to be replaced with the one I want. I can get it to be replaced after installation of the system, but not when it first loads the LiveCD.

Well, what we do is not customizing
I'm not the expert on the subject but (of course) the entire ISO is rebuilt more or less from the bottom up

After extracting the LinuxMint ISO and converted the splash.rle file that is found in the isolinux directory into something that the GIMP can read and display, I see the Ubuntu usplash logo (I don't really use Ubuntu, I'm more of a Kubuntu or Xubuntu person, but i think it's the one from Edgy). Although i figured out on my own that replacing this file is pointless and that it has to be located somewhere else, i have no idea where this other location is. I'm assuming it's somewhere in the isolinux directory, maybe in one of the bin files, as it doesn't load the one in the filesystem.squashfs file until after installing the system, but I'm no expert in LiveCDs. How often do the LinuxMint developers browse and post in the forums?

Developers - not often - they have to much to do to develop Mint - me a lot as you may notice

I know Clem and I use Reconstructor.
It has an option to replace the file and does almost everything automatically for you.
Also the file name we use is splash.pcx

Once you've made your own usplash...
Copy over /usr/lib/usplash/usplash-theme-yoursplash.so (from the chrooted environment) to initrd/usr/lib/usplash/usplash-artwork.so (from the liveCD working root).

Oh.. and we also force usplash into a 1024x768 resolution.. Ubuntu doesn't.. it depends on your artwork I guess. This is done in initrd/etc/usplash.conf

P.S. I find that forced resolution in LinuxMint to be a good thing.
