LiveCD keeps asking me for a username and password

Greetings everyone! I'm having a bit of trouble getting to use the actual liveCD-when it loads, it asks me for a username and password. Now I previously had Kubuntu installed on my PC and I actually messed it up by trying to install Ubuntu 7.10 right over it. I was trying to re-install Kubuntu but the process froze and so I was forced to restart my system. Frustrated, I decided to try Linux Mint. Is there a way around the username and password? I would really like to install this distro..thank you for your time in advance!

If that happens you have a bad CD/DVD
Did you check the md5sum of the ISO?
Did you burn slowly?
If not do so
