uninstalling mint13 from within mint14

Hi,
I have a triple boot system (windows xp, mint13 and mint14) installed in this order. I'd like to remove mint13 but am unsure about how to proceed. I think that from within mint 14 I could use gparted to delete the partition where mint 13 is installed and then add the new hard disk space to the partition of mint14. Is this correct or could this cause problems with grub? Did I provide enough information?

You'll mess things up if you delete the partitions
If you really need the space, you may be able to do something. But we'd need to see a screen of your partitions in Gparted and also thei

I see 2 options

1. From Mint 14: format sda5 and use it as is as a kind of store or

2. Use the Mint dvd not your installed system to: format sda5 in Gparted, then shrink sda5 to as small as it will allow, Apply this, then resize sda6 to take up the unallocated space made free by shrinking sda5 and Apply.
You are left with a small defunct sda5, but it keeps the partition table in order.

Not that pretty and not my choice, but it will get you what you want.
In future, plan ahead better....
Backup important files before you do the above
