Solved: Problem installing on 800x600 screen

Postby fjord on Tue May 06, 2008 5:46 pm

My apologizes if this question is simply to stupid but I'm kind of stuck. I'm trying to install Mint on a Virtualbox linux machine. I've mounted the ISO image and got the live CD running. When I click on the install icon I'm presented with a window that is slightly bigger than the 800x600 screen. There is no way that I manage to resize the screen in order to see the "next" button (or whatever it's called) to continue the installation. It seems as 800x600 is the current max resolution for my Virtualbox as well. I guess I cannot install the "guest addons" before installing Mint. Any suggestions ??

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

You could select auto-hide for the panel to gain a little extra room to see the selection buttons.

That solved the problem. I got to see the top of the buttons. Thank you! I find it a bit weird that you cannot rezise the window dragging from the top, or that the window doesn't allow for a 800x600 resolution (especially now with the range of cheap low resolution laptops appearing). But once again. Thanks!
