Mint 14.1 Cinnamon stuck at Install "Where are you?" screen.

I've searched these forums and the rest of the internet for solutions to this problem. Previously I had Ubuntu 12.04, Mint 13 and Windows 7 booting from this machine with no problem. Update to Mint 14 and nothing but problems. LiveCD boots fine. Install hangs at the Install "Where are you?" screen where you choose your location for time purposes. It's really frustrating that Windows 7 installs with no issues on the same machine yet Linux Mint can't. Suppose if I can't get this working I'll give Ubuntu a whirl again. Just wish things would work without so much hassle. Put this machine together around 2008 and the hardware was pretty decent at the time. I had been trying to install to sdc and am now attempting to install to the old Ubuntu partition on sdb which resides alongside win7.
So no one needs to ask:
1. I've checked md5s and integrity.
2. I slow burned the disk.
3. I ran the "sudo apt-get remove ubiquity-slideshow-mint" command prior to running the install program.
4. I've got four hard drives. The one specified as the main boot drive is the 1GB drive that has Win7 installed.
