Can't get into Mint - Acer Spire s3

Hello everyone,
I have a Acer Aspire S3. It runs Windows 8. It has a UEFI system.
I installed Ubuntu 12.10 and had no issues, my UEFI menu offered both Ubuntu + windows as boot options.
I prefer LM so I download LM14 and installed it. I reboot and LM is in my UEFI menu however clicking it goes straight to windows. As such, I decided to download EasyBSD for windows, and then add a new entry -> Grub 2 -> auto detect, I also added a manual and specificed the path to /boot.
Neither work. They throw instant errors.
Does anybody have any suggestions on how I can boot into linux at this point? it's on /sda6
