Very slow linux mint 14.1 on USB.

So I downloaded Linux Mint 14.1 Cinnamon. The MD5 matches. I then used Unetbootin and loaded the iso on my 8gig USB flashdrive. Next I booted from it and everything is really slow. When I try and open firefox it takes like 3 min. I tried installing even wile it was so slow and it took like an hour and the installer crashed. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks
