linux mint fails installation and boot

Good afternoon,
I was trying to install linux mint today and I had the same problem I had months ago.
I downloaded the linux mint 14.1 iso, then flashed it on a usb pendrive with mintstick. All went well. It boots well, the installer hangs a bit on start, it seems to lag, but it works. Then it comes to account import from Windows Seven, and there it hangs, I didn't even choose anything to import. I have to install grub with the terminal, and when I reboot mint is there, apparently, cause when I try to boot it, it simply hangs on cups loading.
I have a HP dv5-1110el, I'm able to install and boot every distro (fedora, opensuse, *ubuntu, debian, slackware, gentoo, archlinux, chakra, archbang, frugalware and so on) but Linux Mint always fails. Is there anything I can try?
