Another username, password trouble

My iso is mint 14 cinammon 64 bit. verified for checksums. Installed on MMC card 1 gb with unetbooting as well as live-usb-creator. When done without persistance it boots up fine. But when done with persistance a login screen is presented. I have tried all the suggestions for this, "mint" and blank, as well as all the others I could think of. Even the windows account from the host machine. Nothing works. The card's integrity has been checked too. Nothing seems to be amiss. The only thing I can see is that with the presence of casper-rw MINT expects a pre existing user account. Please help me.
