Boot issue. Please help me.

I recently installed Linux Mint 14 using the Cinnamon desktop. I am running the 64 bit architecture. After about two weeks of use I finally had the time to settle down and install some of the games, wine, and my beloved Google Chrome. Upon rebooting because of a game freezing my system (Alien Arena) My computer booted into terminal. I rebooted several times to see if the issue would persist, and nothing changed. I managed start the GUI using

, but I cannot figure out how to start the Cinnamon desktop, or resolve this issue for future boots.
P.s. I am using the system now.
