When attempting to install LM14, 32bit, Cinnamon from DVD (see note at bottom of post) the install process consistently crashes. The crash occurs when clicking the “continue” button after the wifi connection is made. It also crashes at the same “continue” if the choice is to connect later. The following error message was caught by initiating the wifi connection and then clicking cancel before the connection was made.

Here is the error message, transcribed by hand, from the screen:

The same DVD was used to successfully install on an another Lenovo T43. After several crashes I set the two T43‘s side by side and went through the BIOS’ making sure the second machine’s BIOS matched the first one’s.

Solution: using the live dvd, deleted the hard drive's / file. Then went ahead with the install from the dvd.

I don't know what it is; I thing that it is a edition installer bug.

I had the same problem with LM13 cinnamon, LM13 mate, kde; I tried LM14 and had success.

Try LM 13 cinnamon, mate, etc.

See another user with problem too.
