black screen when booting

Postby antonito on Thu Feb 21, 2013 9:44 am

Once in a while my system boots to a blank black screen. I have installed Mint 14 (nadia) 3 times (too stubborn?) and last night did it again. Can you help me?
I highlighted the lines where I think the problem resides. I'm newbie in linux and do not know how to solve this issue.
Here's my part of my syslog file:

Kernel incompatibility with the hardware.

Try Mint 13.

This problem is posted every where, I'd try googling if you want to stick with lm 14 otherwise try 13

Thanks for the advice. I'll try 13 and see what.
one question: what hardware is compatible with 14?
