Samsung brick

I have a new samsung laptop that is one of the models susceptible to the UEFI brick.... I have been reading everywhere that the module in which causes the brick has been "turned of" in the latest kernels. I was curious if this "fix" has been add to Linux Mint? I know the "fix" doesn't guarantee anything and I am willing to try, even if it destroys my laptop.
