Total encryption wanted - help needed

Hello all

I am currently running Nadia Cinnamon on a laptop and want to reinstall the system with as much security and encryption as possible

I used to have an acquaintance who knew a lot about IT security and he told me that the Alternate Install disk of Ubuntu allowed one to have full disk encryption

I want something like that, in fact I want the most secure system I can have. On top of that I will use Pidgin OTR, Tor etc,

Is anyone available to volunteer to help walk me through all these steps please?

I believe full disk encryption will be available on Mint 15. search the forum for a work around available now.
