Creating Smaller Installer Image

My computer's DVD-reading capabilities are busted, but it can boot from CD just fine. Is it possible to create a Linux Mint installer that can fit into 700MB?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Not sure, if your system supports booting from USB and if you've a 2GB USB to spare, you could check this out

I found a LM 13 Mate cd size iso on the forums here and installed it to an old laptop with the same problem, adding in the extra packages post install, works great. So it can and has been done.
If I find the link I'll post it.

Here it is

Acer Aspire 5535 / Windows Vista Home Basic 32 bit / LM 13 KDE 64 bit dual boot
HP Pavillion DV5 / LMDE Cinnamon 64 bit / #! Waldorf 64 bit / Linux Lite 32 bit / Ubuntu 12.04.2 32 bit / Debian 7 KDE 64bit quin boot

You can also burn the plop boot manager to the CD and use that to boot from the USB.
