Touchpad: Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon on Macbook 3,1 Late 2007

Hi, I've done some research on this and haven't been able to come up with anything that really works. Here's the scenario:

I installed Linux Mint 14 on my late 2007 white poly-carbonate Macbook 3,1 (how's that for details? ). The installation went smoothly, got everything up and running within minutes after installation. The only the that isn't working is the touchpad, for some reason I have to place my fingers flat on it instead of using the tips of my fingers. I've trying using gsynaptics and synclient and have slightly improved performance. Here is my current xorg config file:

Code: Select all
Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "touchpad catchall"
    MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
    Option "FingerLow" "10"
    Option "FingerHigh" "20"
    Option "FingerPress" "100"
    Option "RTCornerButton" "0"
    Option "RBCornerButton" "0"
    Option "MinSpeed" "0.7"
    Option "MaxSpeed" "1.7"
    Option "SHMConfig" "on"
    Option "TapAndDragGesture" "off"
    Option "PalmDetect" "on"

I'm not sure what else to do in this case. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I realized there weren't many people asking about the older Macbooks, pre-unibody. Also, I've checked out the Ubuntu MacTel site (which is what helped me get most of the stuff working).
