I was trying to change fonts in Grub & somehow messed up. in Mint14 xfce 64bit
couldn't boot up...got black screen.
Had to /fixboot /fixmbr to get back into win 7.

Is there anyway to recover and install my original grub backup file in mint partition??
I am in win 7 now , but have not deleted the mint partition. Want to save & restore
if possible.

Any advice on how to do this would be appreciated.
thanks

None of them helped.

well, I downloaded that program, but it's one i've already tried and doesn't work
at what I need to do. Guess I'm going to lose all my work and have to re-install
from scratch.
thanks anyway.

if you still have the live cd you should be able to boot from that and reinstall grub 2. or at least get your files copied to a cd or usb drive.

here's the page that tells how:
