Cannot see external USB HDD from LiveCd Mint 14.1

Mint 14.1 Live CD installed on Flash Drive.

Running Windows 8, reboot using Advanced Boot to reboot from flash drive.

Live CD version of Mint 14.1 comes up and runs fine.

Problem -> I want to install Mint 14.1 on external HDD via USB. Live CD Mint 14.1 does not seem to "see" the external HDD.
