Mint 14 SSD Install Black Screen, Blinking Cursor

I installed Mint 14 Nadia, 64-bit, Cinnamon, today and all I get when I boot, is a blinking cursor that is down one line. I can't type anything in. I had a working 13 Cinnamon 64-bit on a HDD and I still have it. All that I changed in the computer is the SSD. Is the problem hardware or software? How can I fix it?
