I have installed Linux mint 14 (nadia), after sometime, i tried ccsm --replace, and then suddenly i lost the minimize and maximize button on the window, i cant also move my window, then after rebooting my taskbar is gone and minimize and maximize button is there already, how can i see my taskbar? i cant even shutdown properly,
Also can i reinstall my mint without damaging or losing my files?

Do you have a Windows keyboard? There should be a WinLogo key between the left control & alt key. The Menu should pop up, select Cinnamon settings, then Panel. On Panel layout, select 'Traditional', then select 'Use customized panel size' and making it larger. Maybe that'll help, let us know what happens.

I have the same problem. Linux Mint 14 (Mate) 64bit.

I have a 'Windows keyboard' and when pressing the 'Windows button' nothing happens.........

Just an empty desktop. Right-click on the desktop only gives a menu with 'Create new folder', 'Create new document', 'Organize desktop by name', 'Keep aligned' and 'Change Desktop background' as options. Nothing with add or create panel.
Cannot open terminal, basically I cannot do anything.

The system worked well for a week untill today. I had to force reboot the system because it crashed and also this morning I installed widgets (I cannot remember the name).
After the reboot I just had an empty desktop.

Quick update:

After I logged out ([ctrl]+[alt]+backspace) I choosed an other desktop (Mate) and now everything looks normal again.
I don't know which desktop I used before.
