Installed Mint replacing ubuntu boot menu not showing mint

Postby salh on Sat Mar 23, 2013 7:42 am

So this is the story, when I dual booted ubuntu - it made like a dozen entries in the boot menu (f9 during blank post). So this is what im stuck with:
Windows
ubuntu
Ubuntu(alternating first caps)
*a few more of ubuntus*
Boot from LG USB Hardrive Mint
Chose EFI file

Choosing ubuntu gives a CLI grub (minimal bash-like line editing supported...).
Google suggested EasyBCD, but I don't want to break windows and lose my important files and programs, and the .bcd backup files only work form inside windows

Sorry for the long post, my problem is unique and complicated, and I'm not willing to take too many risks as this is a brand new notebook. Never had any problem with desktops before.
