Solved: Linux Mint Debian 201303 Update Problem

Postby RevMike on Tue Mar 26, 2013 5:34 pm

Is my memory playing tricks?
I have run LMDE for over a year and have updated each version as it was released.
So should my Update Manager show 201303 files ready to be selected and installed?
Or have I got to download 32-bit Mate .iso and install from there.
By the way there does not appear to be a straightforward HOWTO for a Newbie to update their
rolling LMDE.
Thanks Mike

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Mike

If you've been updating your older LMDE (you should be at UP6), there is no advantage to installing the new .iso. You will be at the same place with both. The new .iso's are primarily for new users, or if for whatever reason you have to do a full re-install.

As long as you keep updating LMDE (when the UP packs come out, you are good to go.)...

Thanks for reply Gene!
BUT still have Update Manager problem. Its UP pack 6 pointing: 'Linux Mint Debian Latest' repository.
I start Update and the files are listed as:
Failed 0 size, or Hit 0 size, or Done
But when the download has completed the Update Mgr screen is blank, no files to Install.
:?:
Any further thoughts folks?
