Using USB Installer

Postby Centropolis on Mon Apr 08, 2013 1:17 pm

Hi,

I am starting a new dual-boot installation on a netbook that already has Win7 on it. I am going to use Universal USB Installer off http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal- ... -as-1-2-3/.

My question is, I want to install Mint 13 XFCE 32-bit. But the website only shows Linux Mint 13 as one of the compatible distro I can use the tool with. Does it mean that I can only install the main version 13 and not specifically the XFCE version?

Thanks.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I used unetbootin to create a usb and put Maya Cinnamon 32bit on it. My computer wouldn't boot with the USB. I spent an hour trying to figure out how to boot with USB thinking that my settings in the BIOS is wrong. But still couldn't boot it.

I then went to download openSUSE 12.3 and used their live usb creator. My laptop booted the USB properly and I was able to run Live USB KDE on my laptop so it's not my BIOS.

Maybe unetbootin just doesn't support Mint 13?

Unetbootin supports almost every Linux distro except Suse :D
