cinnamon to kde swap ?

I have mint - cinnamon installed and I'm thinking of giving KDE a try

Could I just remove cinnamon and install kde

or

Is it better to do a fresh install of mint -kde ?

Also I partitioned my drive into 3 root, home and swap, will a fresh kde install use my current /home setup if that makes sense :?

Thanks

Bubby

Hello Bad Boy Bubby and welcome to Mint.
Here's what I would do try kde for awhile first you can install it along side cinnamon by doing the following.
go to synaptic package manager.
do a search for kubuntu-desktop and installing it.
it won't be exactly the same as mint but close.
after it's installed you'll be able to choose at login which desktop you want to use.

# 2 yes if you want to keep your home directory you can do that , just select manual at the partitioning page during install. and click on the / partition and select that one to format then select your /home partition and set it's mount point to /home but do not format it.
Good luck
