Installing Linux Mint with RAID 1

I have a Dell XPS M1730 notebook that originally came with two HDDs configured with RAID 1 and Windows Vista installed. I am attempting to install Linux Mint but the installer sees the HDDs separately and only installs to one of them, and when I retart, it boots straight to Vista rather than going to GRUB. Can anybody help me install this?
