...I created a bootable USB device with:
dd if=~/Desktop/linuxmint.iso of=/dev/sb oflag=direct bs=1048576
...but I can't get it to boot at all.
If I do the same thing by using Ubuntu's startup disk creator GUI utility I manage to get a bootable USB but near the end of the installation I get a "grub-install dummy failed" error.
Despite the MD5 check of the ISO image is fine the the integrity check procedure fails, as describe here:
My laptop is an asus UX32VD, using EFI.
Note that I have none of these problems Ubuntu 12.10 which installs without any problem.
Any help to solve issue #1 or #2 is welcome.
