More options for SSD-drives (example: discard, relatime)

Post by DriveR »

Hello!
When installing MINT14 was very surprised when you partition your disk, I can not add more options for SSD-drives (example: discard, relatime)
Tell me, how is it possible to do it during the installation / partitioning?

I don't think any feature is implemented for that in Linux Mint 14's installer. See tips here for optimizing Linux Mint for SSD: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p ... 03#p461796

Quantify 'all of linux', and please don't include those distros I know as a fact don't support it.

Anyway, why bother ? You can add these mount options (and with more details) later by editing the fstab. It is a matter of seconds.

There's been a whole swathe of 'feature' requests lately that only afford a few lazy people the extra luxury of saving a few mouse clicks or key taps.
