Question before installing

Hi. I'm running a first gen Macbook with an airport extreme wireless card. When I run Mint from the live CD, it can't seem to find that card, and I don't have another way onto the internet. I've looked all over these forums, and no posts seem to say what to do if the OS can't find my wireless card. I'm really eager to install Mint, but want to try to solve this first. Can anyone help me please?
