Can't add user, Mint 5 solved

As the title says I can't add another user to a laptop my daughter uses.

I can go through the gui but after I've Ok'ed it and go into users & groups again it's gone.

I imagine there's a way around this or a fix that someone more knowledgeable can direct me to.

I am not sure if this is it, but at least a couple of users have reported that this is solved if you fix the security flaw

If you have not done so yet open mintUpdate and click refresh - you may get a long list of files to update
