I wanted to install MINT over Mandriva x86_64 because of software compatability problems. x86_64 gets confused with i586 libraries. At least.
I ran the MINT Live CD and quite like it. However MINT Install doesn't see any of my existing partitions.
Mandriva on the other hand does.
- Code: Select all
/dev/sda1 type: b WIN95
/dev/sda2 type: c WIN95
/dev/sda3 type: 5 Extended
/dev/sda4 type: 83 Linux /
/dev/sda5 type: 7 NTFS
/dev/sda6 type: 82 Linux Swap
/dev/sda7 type: 83 Linux /Home
/dev/sda8 type: 7 NTFS
Some are FAT32 left over from when Linux couldn't read NTFS partitions.
BTW, fdisk -l from a MINT terminal does show the disk partitions.
