It has 160 Gb hard disk with 2 partitions:
- primary with 60 Gb (C:)
- extended with 100 Gb (D:)

I dont know BIOS version. It has 2 Gb ram.

I start the instalation with the livecd and every time it gets to 89% pc receives shutdown signal, dunno from where but i cant do anything to avoid it.

I used a alternate Kubuntu 8.04 install and, it worked i mean i used same particioning that i made with the Elyssa cd from the primary partition with 130 Mb ext3 which i mounted to "/boot" and a logic partition from the extended partition of 20 Gb reiserfs mounted as "/".

Is there any way to install Kde Elyssa except with the normal install cd?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

You can always try the USB way, like a live cd but on a USB flash stick :

Hi, I come from a hacking forums called gamecheetah (gamecheetah.com).

If I understand the question correctly (you are wanting to install KDE on Linux Mint after installing from normal mint cd), these instructions should work.

1. Click Elyssa (or whatever your main menu button is).
2. Click Software Portal
3. Click APT
4. Type knoppix-desktop in the box and click install.

if those directions don't work (maybe you have a different version than me and the directions don't make sense) then this will definately work.

1. Click your main menu button.
2. Click Terminal
3. type: sudo apt-get install knoppix
4. press enter, put in your password and hit enter again.
5. If apt asks anything, press y and hit enter
6. type exit and hit enter

KDE should now be avalible from the sessions menu on the login screen
