Multiboot Vista, Mint and Ubuntu?

Postby Stefan on Thu Sep 04, 2008 4:12 am

Hello,
I have Mint and Vista dualbooting and I have a 16Gb partition left. If I want to install Ubuntu (root) on that partition... what would happen? (If I let Ubuntu and Mint use the same /home partition)?

Also, can the Grub handle this easily?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

You are asking for trouble - perhaps
Do not!!!! use the same user name and you are ok with home
Grub handles that and the Ubiquity installer as well (unless your install crashes - use manual partitioning to overcome that)

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

Duh... Should have figured that one out myself... Share /home, but with individual user names.
