Installing Mint on Hardware RAID issues

Hey all. I'm having a slight issue here. I am building a small file server and decided to use this fine distro for it. I set up the system with 2 250GB hdd's and configured them to RAID1 in the BIOS. However, when i run the install CD I get...
Loading /casper/vmlinuz......................................
Loading /casper/initrd.gz.....................................
.............................................................
Ready.
and it stops there. I have tried to run in compatibility mode and it ends up stopping at the same point, "io scheduler cfq registered (default)"

Can anyone lend a hand or do I have to look into another distro?

RAID is not at all well supported on Ubuntu and Ubuntu based distros
You need to do quite a bit of fiddling to get it to work
It seems that both disks are seen as separate disks, and - of course - stop....
This topic is highly enlightening

But you need some expert skills to use dmraid - basically install on one disk and then build the raid...
And I simply know to little about the process in Mint to help you
Some distributions have a better support for raid...
