Helllo,

I am trying to install Mint 5.0 R1 Gnome on my computer from the live CD but its not working. When the CD is put in the drive I get the Mint screen and have a choice between Normal Mode, Safe Compatibility Mode, Memory test and Boot From Hard Drive. I have tried normal mode and Safe mode. Every time I try, the livecd just drops me to Busy box with a (initramfs) prompt. I have tried adding acpi=off and all_general_ide to the kernel options with no luck. Please help me out! I desperately need to get Mint Installed on this system and am under a deadline. Any help is greatly needed and appreciated.

My Specs

Pentium 3 1000mhz
384 GB SDram
80GB IDE drive
IDE DVD/CD burner drive, LG
Asus Board
ATI All in wonder Capture card with DVI

Thanks

This might help. http://linuxmint.com/wiki/index.php/Tro ... ur_Live_CD
You might want to try irqpoll.
Double check the md5sum and make sure that you burned the live cd at the lowest possible speed.
