Cannot start Mint, if bootable USB is not connected.

Post by tomas.teicher »

I installed Linux Mint from USB disc on my computer. At least I thought that I installed it on my computer.
Although linux files are on hard disc of my computer (directories like bin, etc, boot...) I can see my hard disc in "Devices" list. I cannot start Linux Mint, if I disconnect my installation USB disc.

Wiithout USB disc, I ge this message after turning on my computer:
"Insert system disk in drive. Press any key when ready..."

Can anybody help? In which step of installation I need to set up, that I need to install Mint in so way, that I would not need USB disc later after installation?

thanks for any help
Tomas

Hi,

did you check in your bios what the boot order is?
and what option did you use to install Mint (auto or something else)
