Help Make Progress Window Return

Okay! I'm using Linux Mint 5. I installed Startup-Manager and I don't like the results. While booting, I see text scrolling down the screen instead of the 'progress bar window' that I'm accustomed to seeing. I don't want to see text. I want to see the progress window only. Using Startup-Manager, I tried and selected restore defaults but nothing changed. I'm not having a problem with the OS itself, just don't like the bootup appearance.

How do I manually restore the progress bar window that was the default? Help!

Try this

I don't know if you have to change the resolution though :)

Don't try it if you don't understand that post.
Hang around a while and get a bit more understanding and then come back to it
