insatlling mint on vista

Postby momint on Fri Oct 24, 2008 6:39 am

I've installed Vista home premium on my machine and it has two partitions(C,D).
When I try to install mint it is asking for creation new partition to be selected from the existing partition.
I am not sure that new partition created will be used for installing mint or remaining space after creating new partition is used for mint installation.
Can I use a new empty partition created in vista(as E) for installing mint?
Can I share files between mint and vista?(Accessing mint files from vista and vista files from mint)? If can how it should be done?

Please help me out?????

Yes, It's possible to install Linux Mint in the second partition created previously. I did the dual boot with Xp but Mint didn't boot in the grub manager. I repeated the installation using the space from the C partition in which was installed Xp: the first option. Both system worked properly eventually. It's possible to share files and folders from Vista and Mint, in a network too.
