Which release?

Post by georgetoon »

Okay, I messed up my Linux Mint system. Read about it and avoid the mistake I made.

Anyhow, I will need to do a reinstall. Which version should I go with?

Try them all on Live-CD first.

Good point. I found Elyssa KDE. 1.2 gig download. I have this burned to disc and will give it a whirl tonight. Hopefully, everything will work. All I need to do is backup a few things.

I agree with try them all. I prefer Gnome-Main, but I only know that because I have tried them. Everyone has their preference.

I've always liked KDE. It's installed and did so quite easily.I'm doing a mint update now. it said that some packages could not be authenticated. I'm still downloading. Are these packages in the update safe?
