Boot from CD then run from USB

Postby MrOhWell on Sun Nov 16, 2008 10:38 pm

I use XFCE release on a old laptop that cant boot from USB device. I want to boot from CD, then run Mint from USB pendrive. What kind of cheatcode can i use to do that, or do i must create a special BOOT CD that will detect USB before loading its content. I saw something like that with an old SLAX distro, so i want to do samething with MINT.

Thanks!

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Hey, while I don't have an answer since I've never tried this thread from the PCLinuxOS support forum might get you on your way. Obviously not all of it will work but I suspect its the same general idea.

This is a link from the above topic that might prove to be the most useful as its based off Kubuntu.

Hope that helps some or at least gets you started.
