Live CD and gparted

I think I've found a showstopper.

gparted shows /dev/sda with 111.79 gb but shows the entire space unallocated.

If I do this:
mint@mint:~$ sudo fdisk -l /dev/sda

hmmmm. All I want to do is install mint 2.2 in partition 3.

Must be a bug in gparted. Darn.

Any suggestions? Or should I wait for the next release?

Is this when you want to install from the Live CD?
If so you may have chosen to let partitioning be "automatic". If you select to manually edit the partition table you should be able to see and select the partition you want

This must be something specific to your config, else I would not have installed in an existing partition
fdisk shows it all so it's there. Can you access all partitions from your installed Linux? If you check for disk errors (fsck) do you find any?

I sorted it out. The partition table had ovellapping partitions. Used fdisk to delete it all except the winXP, booted with the live CD and lo and behold I now had enuf in parted to make partitions and install mint.
