Help (Older Version)

Postby Rezert on Mon Dec 29, 2008 12:27 pm

I have the 5-something version of Linux Mint and am having a problem. I had this before and I remember finding something in the Wiki to edit GRUB and it fixed it. Well, recently we had a power outage from snow. It messed up my installation a bit which is weird... Basically, the

Code: Select all
Linux Mint, kernel 2.6.24-21-generic
Linux Mint, kernel 2.6.24-21-generic (recovery mode)

duplicated so it looks more like this:

Code: Select all
Linux Mint, kernel 2.6.24-21-generic
Linux Mint, kernel 2.6.24-21-generic (recovery mode)
Linux Mint, kernel 2.6.24-21-generic
Linux Mint, kernel 2.6.24-21-generic (recovery mode)
Linux Mint, kernel memtest86+

They have the same boot configurations in GRUB. My main problem is that they boot into BusyBox (dun dun dun!) As I said, I had this problem before and I had to edit a GRUB configuration file to fix it but I can't remember where/what (I know how).

Thanks,
Rezert

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Sorry, the reason is because

Code: Select all
ALERT! /dev/hda1 does not exist.  Dropping to a shell!

Oh, and I tried /dev/hda2, /dev/hda3, and /dev/hda0 which none of worked. Did this wipe my drive or something? :O

Should I just try to install Linux Mint 6?
