Installing to an Acer Aspire 1

Postby TJConnell on Tue Jan 06, 2009 9:18 am

Hi,

I want to put Mint on to my Acer Aspire 1 which has no CD/DVD drive!

I am wondering what is the best way to go about this! I do not have a usb cd drive so I cant run the live cd on the machine!

The Aspire is running Linpus linux not XP and I want to replace Linpus completely!

Any suggestions? Am I likely to have problems with any drivers for any of the Aspire hardware?

Thanks for your Help

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

What about making a Live-USB?
unetbootin can put the LiveCD on to a USB key if you have one and your computer supports booting from USB

I believe mostly everything will work out of the box except for wifi, according to most reports online. Search "acer aspire one linux mint" or "acer aspire one ubuntu" to get a better idea.
